Human Beings are Not Machines

Over the years, there has been a lot of talk about how human beings, and the human “program” has evolved to meet the needs of today. The more we learn about the mind, the brighter our ideas become about human consciousness, and haphazardly, the more we invest in pursuing singularity.

And no matter what school of thought you are in, there is one thing we can all agree upon. Human beings are not machines, they are living, breathing, conscious energy. We are all formed of hundreds of trillions of cells, each working in tandem with one another, learning from one another and sending signals to one another.

And while one may look at this understanding as a meer form of equipment, it is clear that our human-ness is something that cannot simply be replicated — not even by the brightest of minds, programmers, or scientists.

Currently, there are trillions of dollars being invested in the development of AI machine learning, designed to simulate the human mind, and the corresponding conscious behavior of our species. This deep and complex process is not only revealing the complexity of our human nature, it is in fact pointing to its importance.

In an ideal world, human beings create technology to better meet and serve the needs of their fellow species. Technology that can evolve with, and support the future of our species. However, what we are seeing today, with digitally addictive design, is that technologists around the world, are driven more by desire than they are by destiny.

Tech giants around the world are working tirelessly to capitalize on the human mind’s capacity for attention, focus, and relentless pleasure seeking. This capital market is a prime example of how technology is being designed to undermine human consciousness, and ultimately capitalize on our most innate qualities.

Allow me to expand on this.

In 2020, human beings are being targeting through machine learning, AI and algorithms, providing the most bite-worthy content, advertising, viral video, and fake news updates. Content is curated with one goal in mind — hijack the attention of target consumer, and keep their attention for as long as possible, until they buy. Once they buy, capture their data, learn more about them, and their friends, retarget the information, and continue to provide them click bate so you can tap their psyche for even more behavioral processing and data information.

This, is by no means exaggerated. This is exactly how technologists today are designing and developing our tools. Tools, that, for all intents and purposes are supposed to make our lives easier.

But here is the thing, while technologists capitalize on our attention, we “humans” or otherwise known as consumers, are being stripped away of our innate power to make conscious choices. We are fed highly curated junk food, that speaks to our specific “needs” and guides us through a series of obstacle courses that have been designed to measure our behavior, habits, thresholds and limitations.

Technologists today are no longer experimenting with the consumer mind. They are strategically partnering with psychologists to tap in to the human mind, and program their behavior through bright colors, shiny screens, satisfying noises, and even more engaging digital experiences.

From the consumer perspective, who would think that each interaction is being monitored and tracked by technology conglomerates?

The conveniences we are being provided are actually robbing us of our privacy, our peace and our power?

It’s hard to imagine, that such a small screen, has managed to infiltrate the lives of so many, seamlessly. Billions of human beings on this planet, tracked and translated as data on a screen.

There is more information today, then there ever has been about any species in the history of human kind. We are constantly producing quantum information, at such a rapid pace, that human beings actually do not know what to do with it all.

And yet, we keep going. We keep developing and destroying the hearts and minds of our fellow human beings. We keep hijacking their most important tool. Their awareness.

AI researchers and scientists, some of which are creating for good, are deeply studying the mind as a method to better develop and design AI to meet the needs of human beings. This, to me, makes it clear, that the human mind is worth studying. It is worth evaluating, and it is worth pursuing.

Because here is the sad truth. If we do not begin to pursue the brilliance of our mind, we leave it up to the digital deviants.

The choice is ours. We either learn how to hack our human potential, or we hand it over willingly to the next best thing to hit the digital market. Be it games, social media platforms, news , shopping, you name it. Each industry is being hand crafted to capture your heart, your soul, and your power.

Do not be discouraged, however. Remember, that where there is darkness, there is light. Where there is evil, there is good. There are people out there that are working diligently to save the future of our human race. They are dedicating their lives to ensure that they are IN the conversation of developing future technologies with the right ethics and morals.

At the core of their work, is the understanding and the belief that in order for the human race to evolve in to a technological future, we need to harness our human capabilities, honor our intelligence, and take back control of our choices.

If you’re like me, and want to create a brighter more sustainable for all, then do me a favor, and slide off your screen. Start small, then increase. Learn how to live without the glow. Reengage with g-ds show. Let the light emerge from your being, and not from your pocket.

Wherever you are in the world, reading this, take a moment, and thank yourself. Thank yourself for being wiling to explore the depths of our deep, dark internet, while also maintaining faith in humanity. We cannot do this without you.

Each of us needs to do our part in taking back our power, and learning to live on and off screen in a healthy and sustainable way.
